Remember our journey into the world of telnet BBS? While they are somewhat fun on their own, they only provide glimpses of what it was like to use them when they were popular. But BBS: The Documentary provides a more comprehensive overview of various aspects surrounding BBS, focusing on the people who were using and running them.

Through numerous interviews, it covers early BBS communities and stories, the birth of FidoNet, MUD games, ANSI art scene, the transformation of some of the BBS into ISPs, some hardware and software of the time, and other related topics.

While it seems to be rather low-budget, with low audio and video quality, it is genuinely interesting and informative. The film is directed by Jason Scott.
