Naev is a space-themed adventure/RPG kind of game, akin to endless sky (2D top-down graphics, too) and somewhat similar to oolite.
The game features trading, combat, flights, and missions that are about trading, combat, and flights. The game also features lots of stars and planets, space ships, equipment, factions. All those things are made quite well, as is the overall game, comparing to other similar libre games.
It is not particularly original, or fun, or anything, yet a fine game to kill some time with. The build process is nice and painless, it neither crashes nor hogs resources, the graphics and controls are fine: looks like the authors either knew what they are doing, or at least weren’t lazy to learn along the way (which is at least 10 years of development, with more than 13 thousand commits).
